We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic & passionate individual with the drive for a career in IT to get started with Shadowfax as an Apprentice IT Engineer.

The Role

Shadowfax are recruiting an Apprentice IT Engineer to work alongside our existing team of Engineers on the Helpdesk. Responsibilities will include managing & maintaining client equipment, including PCs, Servers, Network Infrastructure and Telephony. Shadowfax's Helpdesk Team are a dynamic group of Engineers working with latest technologies to achieve client goals. 

The successful applicant will need to have a passion for IT, although as this is an apprenticeship role no prior experience is necessary. Both in-house and external training is provided to expand the candidates knowledge & gain industry recognised qualifications.

Shadowfax may look to potentially grow the role of the candidate into a full-time employed position at the end of the apprenticeship.

Day to Day

Day to day tasks may include: Answering Helpdesk calls, preventative maintenance, break-fix on computer equipment, system changes & updates, along with workshop hands-on setup and installations.

Working Location & Hours

Based at our Head Office - Unit 5a, Chelmsford Road Industrial Estate, Great Dunmow, Essex, CM6 1HD.

Flexibility of Shifts Hours of 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Salary & Benefits

Apprentice Salary (Ages 16-18 and those aged 19+ in first year of apprenticeship): £3.30/hour. 

We also provide both in-house and external training for further career advancement, as well as a number of team activities & events (such as white water rafting!) that we encourage all staff to participate in.

Contract Length

1 Year Apprenticeship to Level 3 NVQ Qualification, with potential for offer of a full time employed role beyond apprenticeship.
